Publishing House of the ANSM in Poznań always applies the highest publishing standards and is also guided by generally accepted principles of publishing ethics, aimed at resolutely counteracting prohibited publishing practices. In terms of publishing ethics and scientific integrity, it follows the guidelines of the Comittee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and the review procedure is based on the guidelines of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Authors interested in publishing a publication in the Scientific Publishers ANSM are asked to read the rules of cooperation between the Author and the Publishing House.

Principles of cooperation between the Author and the Publishing House and technical guidelines for authors
intending to publish their works in the ANSM Scientific Publishing House

I. General principles of cooperation with the author

An essential step that must be taken by an Author interested in publishing his work is to submit it to the Publishing House or in the publishing application - it can be obtained at the seat of the Publishing House, on the Publisher's website or by e-mail. In the case of multi-author monographs, the person who should fill in such an application and contact the Publishing House in matters relating to the book is the Scientific Editor. The publication is included in the publishing plan after the approval of the publishing application by the University Authorities and after the Author (or Editor) has provided a complete set of materials (or the deadline for their submission has been specified by him). After the work on the book has begun, detailed issues concerning it will be discussed at individual meetings. The publications appearing in the publishing house are obligatorily subject to a scientific review. The waiting time for publication is approximately six months (it may change depending on the content of the publishing plan).

II. What should be submitted to the Publishing House prior to the commencement of editorial work?

The final and complete version of the work should be submitted in the form of:

• two-sided computer print
• and an electronic version compliant with the printout on an electronic carrier (labeled with the name, title and date, a CD or flash drive)
• Layout of materials in the work submitted for publication:
• • title page (author, title, or scientific editor in a collective work or scientific journal)
  • editorial page (editorial committee of the journal)
  • table of contents (also including all supplementary materials, including abstract and indexes)
  • list of shortcuts
  • introduction / preface
  • the main text with footnotes (and illustrative materials, with the exact location in the text, if they have not been previously composed in the right places)
  • annex
  • footnotes and bibliography (bibliographic descriptions should be given in a uniform form and the selected writing method should be used consistently; see: the appendix with examples of footnotes and bibliography)
  • glossary of terms
  • indexes (if the Publisher has to prepare them, the Author will provide all necessary substantive assistance)
  • list of figures, tables, etc.
  • summary (in English and / or Polish)

III. Technical guidelines for preparing materials for the Publisher

1. Requirements for the electronic version of the text and computer printout:

• • the entire work in one file (the name of the file should include the author's / editor's name and the title of the work)
  • illustrative material (photos, charts, diagrams, tables) placed in appropriate places in the main text and additionally in separate files
  • all titles and headings in bold on separate lines
  • footnotes with hyper-indexed footnotes (entered automatically, using the appropriate Word function)
  • in the case of multi-author or collective works, all texts are unified into one version of Word
  • standardized and continuous page numbering; in collective works, it is allowed to make continuous numbering on the printout in handwriting text files in rtf or doc format (Word 2010 or higher, also special fonts)
  • 12-point Times New Roman font, 1.5 line spacing
  • margins of 2.5 cm
  • single or double-sided printing on A4 size paper

2. Illustrative materials should be of good quality and standardized form and descriptions:

• • photos in separate files in JPG or TIFF format (with a resolution of at least 300 dpi) or in the form of originals of good quality, allowing for scans
  • charts prepared in Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel (if they must undergo additional processing during editorial work)
  • vector drawings prepared and transferred in EPS or AI format
  • If, for financial reasons, the graphic material originally prepared in color (maps, charts, diagrams, etc.) is to be included in the work in black and white, it should be prepared by the author so that it is sufficiently legible in black and white print.

The work submitted for publication after post-publication corrections should also contain an information note, which will be included in publishing announcements and on the website.

IV. Meetings with the author while working on the book

After the manuscript is approved for publication, the Author (or the scientific editor of the volume) will be asked to meet with the editors and to proofread the author.

The author (or the scientific editor of the volume) will be asked to meet the editor who runs the book from the Publisher's website and to proofread the book. The number of meetings is determined individually, depending on the nature and volume of the publication as well as the diligence of its preparation by the author and compliance with the guidelines contained in this document.

1. During meetings with the Author (or Editor), issues related to:

• a schedule of publishing works,
• adjustment and editing performed in the publishing house,
• comments and suggestions from the reviewer,
• the format, cover and graphic design of the book,
• any deficiencies or inaccuracies,
• publishing agreement and fee,
• promotional copies and distribution

2. Author's correction

It is the responsibility of the author or editor of the book to make the author's corrections. It allows you to eliminate errors unnoticed before or arising during editorial work. At this stage, substantively justified minor additions or reductions in excerpts from the book are allowed, as long as these amendments do not violate the basic structure of the text. Making major changes generally affects the timing and cost of releasing the work. In the case of collective works, the editor of the volume is responsible for the author's correction (including the delivery of the texts to the Authors).

The publishing house allows for the author's corrections to be made by the editor of the volume. If the Author does not meet the agreed deadline specified in the contract for the return of the correction, the Publishing House recognizes that he agrees to publish the work in the form submitted for correction without any corrections.

After typesetting and proofreading, the Author (or Editor) receives proofs of the book and covers for approval. He should especially check the book layout, cover and editorial page. After the publication has been signed for printing and the author signs the title pages, the editorial page and the cover, no changes are possible anymore.

V. General guidelines for the scientific editor of the collective work

The publishing process of the volume begins with the delivery to Publishing House SET of materials with corrections applied after a positive review.

Scientific editor:

• prepares a detailed instruction for authors, which defines the layout of the article and its components
• provides the Publisher with contracts with the Authors of individual texts in the publication
• verifies the content of texts (including terminology, spelling of surnames, bibliography); articles should contain the same components with a homogeneous layout and nomenclature (especially bibliography, footnotes, annexes and summaries)
• submits to the Publishing House a completed volume with the final table of contents and (if required by the series) foreign language abstracts or abstracts in English. English for each article; the whole in the form of a printout and the corresponding electronic version (+ special fonts used by the authors)
  
• prepares information notes about the book and / or authors
• during the publishing process, he cooperates with the editorial office of the Publishing House, acts as an intermediary between the authors of articles and the Editorial Board, resolves all doubts and answers questions related to the publication.

The scientific editor is obliged to provide the authors with the texts for the author's proofreading.

ANSM Publishing House cares about ensuring the scientific accuracy of published works and makes every effort to counteract unacceptable publishing practices, with particular emphasis on duplicate publication and plagiarism.

Each author submits a Declaration of the originality of the submitted work.

In case of suspicion of unfair practices, the reviewer, scientific editor and members of the Scientific Council request the withdrawal of the text.

Scientific monograph
including scientific editions of source and artistic texts, atlases and maps, thematic encyclopedias and lexicons, commentaries on statutes, scripts and academic textbooks, biographical and bibliographic dictionaries, bibliographies and catalogs of monuments, shall be included in the scientific and creative achievements of the unit, provided that they meet the following conditions:

1. are thematically coherent scientific studies
2. present a specific issue in an original and creative way;
3. have been subject to the editorial review procedure;
4. they are provided with the appropriate scientific apparatus (bibliography or footnotes), excluding maps;
5. have a volume of at least 6 publishing sheets or are maps corresponding to this volume of the text;
6. are published as books or separate volumes (excluding maps), the obligatory copies of which have been handed over to authorized libraries, in accordance with Art. 3 of the Act of November 7, 1996 on compulsory library copies (Journal of Laws, item 722, of 2003, item 1188, of 2008, item 1056 and of 2012, item 1529), are available in libraries of domestic or foreign universities or other recognized scientific organizations, or are published in electronic form on the Internet;
7. have an ISBN, ISMN, ISSN or DOI (Digital Object Identifier).

Monographs can include scripts and academic textbooks if they meet the above requirements.

Scientific monographs do not include: monographic scientific articles published in scientific journals, novels, collections of poetry, collections of stories and reportages, diaries and journals, reissues of scientific monographs.

An outstanding monograph
The basis for recognizing a scientific monograph as an outstanding work is in particular the following: 1) the Prime Minister's award 2) the award of the minister managing a department of government administration 3) the award of the competent department of the Polish Academy of Sciences 4) award of the scientific committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences 5) award of the Foundation for Science Polska 6) a prestigious award of a foreign scientific society 7) a prestigious award of an international organization or a national scientific society.

A chapter in a scientific monograph should be understood as a scientific study with a volume of at least 0.5 publishing sheet, separately published maps corresponding to this volume of the text, entries in encyclopedic and dictionary publications with a volume of at least 0.25 of the publishing sheet, if they meet the requirements:

• are thematically coherent scientific studies;
• present a specific issue in an original and creative way;
• have been subject to the editorial review procedure;
• are provided with the appropriate scientific apparatus (bibliography or footnotes) - excluding maps;

The definition of a monograph in force in 2011-2016 (based on Rozporządzenia MNiSW z dnia 13 lipca 2012 r. w sprawie kryteriów i trybu przyznawania kategorii naukowej jednostkom naukowym - Journal Of Laws of 2012 No. 0, item 877 - § 8.1 p. 2, 4)

Scientific monograph
in particular: editions of source texts, lexicographies, multi-faceted atlases and maps, translations of foreign publications along with editorial work, thematic encyclopedias and lexicons, commentaries to statutes, critical studies of literary texts, biographical and bibliographic dictionaries, bibliographies, catalogs of monuments, in terms of the group of sciences Humanities and social sciences and groups of arts and artistic creation, as well as scientific studies containing thematically coherent papers presented at scientific conferences or conferences, shall be included in the scientific and creative achievements of a scientific unit, if it meets the following conditions jointly:

1. are thematically coherent, peer-reviewed studies;
2. contain a scientific bibliography;
3. have a volume of at least 6 publishing sheets;
4. are published as books or separate volumes;
5. present a specific issue in an original and creative way.

A "chapter in a monograph" should be understood as a scientific study with a volume of at least 0.5 publishing sheet or separate maps.
